The Company's pawn stores engage in both consumer finance and retail sales
activities. They are a convenient source for small consumer loans, advancing
money against pledged tangible personal property such as jewelry, electronic
equipment, tools, sporting goods and musical equipment. The pawn stores also
retail previously-owned merchandise acquired through collateral forfeitures and
over-the-counter purchases from customers. In addition, many of the Company's
pawn stores offer short-term loans or credit services products.
